Wow. The people who praised this film to the skies when it came out were absolutely right, what a seamless, fully realized movie. I was rivited to the screen the whole time and usually, even if I like the flick, my attention will wanders at times. Some of the lines "ideas are bulletproof, Remember, Remember the 5th of November etc." resonate after the film is over and the ideas and performances certainly do as well. I do regret I didn't see it in a theatre because what was great on my TV must have been absolutely magnificent on the big screen. I figure I'll get a chance someday. Bonus review: Miami Vice rocks. Nothing at all like the silly TV show. If you like action movies with heart, see this one. Michael Mann directs shootouts better than anyone for my money.
So go and read the comic now. The episodic nature of the episodes (originally published in a monthly compilation) work like little poems sometimes. You can see a little of it in the film and I'm surprised the film was as good as it was, considering to how much I loved the story.

Meh. I rented "V is for Vendetta" this weekend. I was just average. Interesting enough that I watched it all the way through. It made some political points that are relevant today, and also rehashed some Orwellian ideas. But it didn't really blow me away. I mean, Natalie Portman didn't even get naked...

Done approx 15 years ago. Thanks for the advice though. I actually prefer "Watchmen". Interesting that he (Moore) "disowned" the film. ND
I think Moore has disowned every film he's provided material for! Fussy?! (League Of Gentlemen, From Hell, V For Vendetta). What's the betting he disowns Watchmen when it eventually gets made?

just finished watching the movie. Turn on the tv and see their is all this hub bub of a foiled terrorist plot in England. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Glad I am not planning on flying the next week or 2. I enjoyed this movie much more than I would have expected. I think there is more than a few relevant political points made. Many will scoff at them perhaps. But better to be cynical than naive in these days. ymmv peace jeff
It all rolls into one And nothing comes for free There's nothing you can hold For very long
And when you hear that song Come crying like the wind It seems like all this life Was just a dream hunter
