Schnabel's authoritative Beethoven Concerto readings

     * Beethoven - Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in Bb, Op. 19
       Artur Schnabel, piano
       London Philharmonic Orchestra
       conducted by Dr. Malcolm Sargent
Recorded at Abbey Road, London, 5th April, 1935
Issued as four HMV 78s DB.2573-76
       Matrix numbers 2EA1457-64
       Takes 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 2, 2, 1

1st Concerto, 1st mvt. from piano entry, 224kbps ambient stereo:

The main impetus for this was to try and fix the dreadful sound of the
1st Concerto, which was recorded the day before the equally appallingly
recorded Emperor Concerto. Despite acres of swish to deal with, I think
it came out rather well in the end...

Your "career" at Philips was predicated on dredging up old material,

At least Deacon just used shitty old remasterings with noise
