Most likely none of the above. How about, er, "bargains"? The concept of 20 CDs' worth of Schuricht as a loss-leader, incidentally, is hilarious (assuming that you know what a loss-leader is). They lure you in with cheap Schuricht to induce you to buy what? The 200-disc Heinrich von Hirngespinst edition at full price?

I hope it's only the samples, and not the tracks, that are confused. On discs 8 and 9 (the Bruckner 8th and 9th, as it happens), we have the following:
Disc 8, Track 2 is labeled as 8/ii; it's actually 8/iii " 8, " 3 is labeled as 8/iii; it's actually 9/i " 8, " 4 is labeled as 8/iv; it's actually 9/ii " 9, " 1 is labeled as 9/i; it's actually 9/iii " 9, " 2 is labeled as 9/ii; it's actually 8/ii " 9, " 3 is labeled as 9/iii; it's actually 8/iv
Are these 256 or 320 KB MP3s? There's enough good music-making here that it might well be worth it.

That's the least of it. The last two discs are supposed to be Mahler 2 and Haydn 86, but what amazon's downloader dumped on my hard drive instead is 9 tracks of jazz.... (The same's true of the samples on amazon's site.) Still a bargain, though (especially if they respond to my inquiry by correcting the mistake).
Did anyone download the right tracks on those discs?

I got 148 files, 2.23 GB. Looking at the file names, the last disk appears to be Disk 20 and include the last movement of Mahler 2 and Haydn 86.

The file names were correct but the audio content is jazz, alas...

You say "This was an obvious mistake though". He comes with one mistake after another. And you ask him to keep them coming. My question was: "why?" What's difficult to understand?

I still don't understand.
I told him to "keep them coming", meaning I appreciate hearing about these pricing errors so I can TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM. I posted elsewhere my feeling that these prices "were an obvious mistake" and not a "loss leader", a "sale", or some legitimate markdown.

So you have answered my question without understanding it. (i.e. you want to take advantage of obvious mistakes)

I emailed Amazon about the mistake (asking if they could fix the wrong tracks) before I went to bed last night and when I got up this morning their reply was awaiting me, telling me they had refunded my entire purchase price! I hadn't asked for any sort of refund; I guess it's easier for them to do that rather than fix the mistake. Anyway, I thought, OK, I'll buy the mp3s for the separate release of Mahler 2/Haydn 86 (Hertha Toepper and lousy brass playing in Urlicht notwithstanding - you can hear the whole thing at rhapsody), which costs the same as the entire Schuricht box. But when I tried the audio samples for *that* I discovered they're exactly the same as for the big box, so presumably it's the same mistake there, too; so I guess I'll buy it from emusic or rhapsody.
Unlike Gielen's Mahler set, Amazon haven't corrected the price for Schuricht's.
