Yeah, well, how many recipes did I catch him stealing off the net and then he claims a "friend/relative" sent it to him.
I don't believe Duh'Weenie has an SO... no landlord would permit it without a substantial rent increase... besides all he has is a cot at the local homeless shelter dorm, on the dirt floor in the annex of some holy roller church, where he gives head to a dozen wetback gang bangers for his evening burrito. Yup...or he claims it his "mother's" receipt. I guess Lil Wayne is "nostalgic" for his childhood, his stepfather sneeked into his bedroom at night...and you KNOW the rest...!!!

Aw, c'mon - did you miss the :-^) ? "neither" would actually be a double negative when combined with "no." I was k-i-d-d-i-n-g. Obviously, not very well.

If we're going to be infamous for something that happened in the 20's it should be something juicy like being a fag mecca.

I went through some shit awhile back and didn't post anywhere for 2 1/2 years. I did some lurking but spent of my usenet time in non-conversation groups. When the shit's hittin the fan it can't help but come out in writing style. When I started posting to groups again I had a different attitude. Usenet should add something to your life not be your life. I don't know if Steve is really Jerry. Only he knows unless he's told someone at one the get-togethers they've had in Tex-ass. I don't do email with people here but even if he told me in an email he was or wasn't I'm not sure I'd believe it. If he is, he's been creative. If he's trying to chase him off the same way you got rid of sheryl and manthra, he's doing a good job. Jerry could be real or the sock of someone else for that matter. Either way it's always been about food and funny as hell. Very little of it got into this group. Even Kili seemed to enjoy it. I'd rather laugh my ass of than read 100's of posts about dead cats, health care, sara palin, politics, andy's breakfast, shootings, teachers pay, cameras, etc.
It dawned on me after I posted about andy's breakfast shopping trip I was bordering on hypocrisy. If it was I apologize to the group. I just thought since he finally showed his face and it would explain the insane nature of his posts it was appropriate. I might have been wrong.
As far as this thread, I saw some replies and the quotes sent me to google and I see the two bitching the most are chronic OT posters. More hypocrisy.

People seem to use this group as a couch. More than any group I've ever read. I've got a shitload of problems at the moment but they're mine. From what I remember it got worse when jill was yapping about the "kitchen table" bullshit.

It's called an emotional sponge sucking the life out of those around them.

I'll take the blame. I've got big shoulders and usenet isn't my life anyway.

I had a five year old cat I had to put down about 8 years ago. I still miss him and have his ashes in my closet. He was the only animal I've really loved as an adult. I do understand the pain but don't need 100 strangers sending me condolences in a cooking group.
Does caringbridge have a page for animals and dead sockpoppets?

Yup, the area around Water Tower was called "Tower Town" and it was a popular gay nabe, also the "Bughouse Square" area on the Near North Side (now it's called "Washington Square")...all those areas are *long* gentrified. Vice raids and crackdowns but the kibosh on all that by the early 30's...the powers-that-be were scared to DEATH of Chicago's attraction for anarchists and other leftist riff-raff, after all Chicago was the home of the Haymarket Riot, the commemoration of which IIRC led to the establishment of of May 1st as a "socialist"-inspired holiday...
Chicago's history of labor strife, anti-establishment activism, etc, is *fascinating* to read about
