Hi Bob,,  still here,, mostly lurking and doing moon data.   Been busy with scouts, church and family.   Thought we were going to have next weekend to ourselves for Kathy's birthday, but got an invitation to watch one of the grandkids play soccer; to watch another family of grandkids while parents go to a funeral; and a dinner invite from another family member,,,  If we can get a reservation, at another daughters timeshare, we will probably run away,, HA!!!

A couple of weeks ago I was involved with a camporee, of over 4,000
people, (about 2,500 boys), near Ione.  It was the biggest camp I have ever attended.  It went very well.  They had several helicopters come in, land and let the boys come over and check them out.  The fire helicopter did a demonstration and loaded water out of a little pond, (the pond where they were doing canoing), fly over the camp a couple of times, sounding the siren and finally dump the load on the landing site,,,   the water was black (apparently the pond wasn't very deep), and when the wash sent the aroma out to where we were watching, we about gagged.  It smelled like they had emptied the porta-pottes,, HA!  There were a lot more great stories!!   A couple of kids got stuck on the zip lines for a while!  There were several different obstacle courses, the highway patrol had one obstacle course set up.     There was bow and arrow target shooting, hatchet and knife throwing, fire making with flint and steel, BMX and motorcycle stunt demonstrations.   I think the big hit, because of the heat, was the 100 yard or so, home made water slide that had a jump in it. It wasn't a very big jump but it would throw them out of control most of the time and they would end up in all kinds of positions at the bottom!   It was a 4 day camp, (4 days for boys 16 and older), I was involved the last three days with younger boys, (12 and 13 year olds).

The next Saturday I was involved with several 11 year old scout groups teaching lashing.  I'm ready for some quite time, ha!

I think we are all exhausted with the major events of the past three weeks.
I have family that just moved to Louisiana, and I am trying to put together a book signing for my well received book, The Coming of Coyote:  A Southwestern Odyssey.  It is a poetic presentation of Coyote and survival, and older copies are available on Amazon.com .  Search with title  (Sorry for the OT.)
